Public Rating of the Alien Trilogy

It's no question or secret that both Alien and Aliens are highly regarded by both fans and critics alike as some of the best and biggest science fiction classics. Both were contenders for the top spot among moviegoers for decades, a fact addressed by the writer Paul Sammon in the 2001 book. How are they viewed by the audiences today?

The thing is, I never voted for any movie online in my life, never rated one. I just didn't feel a need to, and that's something I know many lifelong movie fans can identify with - I know many hardcore, passionate fans of certain films who never voted online. Also, I don't even know personally anyone who did. However, just because it doesn't happen in my circle does not mean it doesn't happen. Just because a group of fellow friends give out an opinion on a movie, it does not mean it's the majority's opinion. While I may not have voted, hundreds of thousands people cast their votes on numerous websites, and that number is a very clear indicator of how the general moviegoing population rates the film. So let's take a look at how the ALIEN TRILOGY is perceived today. Spoiler alert - not much changed, but there are some changes nonetheless. It's still a neverending tossup between the first two movies, however, Alien appears to be slightly in the lead for the general audience. Also, Alien 3 isn't nearly as hated as it used to be back in the days
